Studies on the Basic data of Ktc:SD Rats with Age-Body Weight, Hematology, Serum Chemistry and Urine Analysis-

Abstract
|
|
|
Establishment of the basic data line can be an important reference to evaluate the results of animal experiments, to raise the confidence of animal experiments and to standardize laboratory animals.
For this we studied on the basic data Line in Ktc : SD rats with age and the results were follow ing
1. Body weights of Ktc : SD male and female rats were heavier than Crj : rats in 10 week old but females were lighter.
2. Liver weights of Ktc : SD rats were heavier than Crj : SD rats in both sexes. Spleen weights of Ktc : SD male rats in 10 week old were also heavier but in female rats the results were reversed.
3. In hematological parameters, the values of WBC(male and female), RBC(female) of Ktc : SD rats were higher than Crj : SD rats in 10 week old. The values of the other Parameters were reversed.
4. In WBC differential counts, Eosinophil, Monocyte and Lymphocyte of Ktc : SD male rats showed lower rates than Crj : SD rats in 10 week old, but the rite of Lymphocyte of Ktc : SD rats was higher.
5. In serum chemistry the values of GPT, TP, ALB, A/G, Na^+, K^+ and BUN in Ktc : SD male rats were higher than Crj : SD male rats in 10 week old but GOT and GPT were lower in female, the values of GOT, GPT, TG, TP, A/G and BUN were higher than CRJ : SD rats but Na^+ and K^+ were lower.
6. In urinalysis the value of pH and urine specific gravity in Ktc : SD rats were increased with age. Glucose, bilirubin and nitrogen were changed from positive to negative but protein from negative to positive with age.
